**SOLD** 1941 dated Kapok cold weather heavy canvas coat, size 2. These coats are best known for their use in the WW2 British North Africa Campaign by the Long Rang Desert Group who were the forerunner of the SAS. Initially used in the 1940 Norwegian Campaign. Heavy canvas coat lined with natural kapok plant fibers for insulation. Metal, sprung hook & catch front closures. Blanket lined sleeves & bottom interior lining & blanket faced collar.  The resin from the kapok usually seeps out and stains the outer shell of these coats.  There is very little staining on this coat which is unusual. Makers size info. label, WD broad arrow stamp & ink stamped - FLAME PROOF. Very good, un-issued condition.
